With this release, we have introduced two important updates.

The first one has to do with automation rules. Rules creation and editing have become more flexible and transparent. This is just the first release in a series of automation improvements planned for this summer!

What’s new with the rules:

1. You can create rules from any dashboard as well as right from the Automation tab!

Previously, to create a rule for keywords in selected Ad Groups, for example, you had to go to the Ad Groups level.

Now it does not matter what level you are at (Ad Accounts, Apps, Campaigns, Ad Groups, Ad Group Settings, Keywords, Search Terms, Negative Keywords, Creative Sets).

Just click Rules > Create rule for keywords and select of the four options.

  • All keywords
  • Keywords in selected apps
  • Keywords in selected campaigns
  • Keywords in selected ad groups

You can create a rule from the Automation tab as well.

2. “Apply to” field in the rule creation popup is now more transparent and is editable!

Preview what keywords the rule will apply to (All Keywords or Selected Keywords; what Ad Groups, Campaigns or Apps these keywords belong to).

In the example below, we are creating a rule for keywords in selected campaigns. To see the full list of selected campaigns, click on the preview line.

Right from this popup, you can quickly edit the list if you have changed your mind!

Add more apps/campaigns/ad groups (tip: use search to quickly find the ones you need) or untick/clear those you don't want.

Please note, as in this example we are creating a rule for keywords in selected campaigns, we can edit the list of campaigns here.

To change the level (e.g. keywords in selected apps, ad groups or all keywords) click Cancel to go back to the previous window.

3. Now you can quickly check what keywords your rules apply to on the Automation page and make the necessary changes.

Automation tab gives you an overview of what rules you have configured in your account and what do they do. Now you can quickly check what keywords your rules apply to and make the necessary changes.

To do that, click on the pencil edit icon.

You will see a popup. You can check what level the rule applies to (keywords in selected apps, campaigns, ad groups or all keywords) and see what Ad Groups, Campaigns or Apps these keywords belong to.

In this example, we have a rule for keywords in selected campaigns. To see the full list of selected campaigns, click on the preview line.

In the same popup, you can edit the list. Add more apps/campaigns/ad groups (tip: use search to quickly find the ones you need) or untick/clear those you don't want.

Please note, as in this example we have a rule for keywords in selected campaigns, we can edit the list of campaigns here.

To change the level (e.g. keywords in selected apps, ad groups or all keywords) click Cancel to go back to the previous window.

That's it about the rules.

With this release, we have also introduced search in Campaign and Ad Group selection popups!

You no longer need to click through the whole tree structure of your account. Simply use the new search feature to quickly find the necessary campaigns or ad groups!

Watch short video examples below to see how you can search instead of clicking in the following use cases.

1. When you click Action > Add as keywords to add search terms as keywords or transfer keywords between ad groups.

2. When you click Action > Add as negative keywords to add search terms or keywords as negatives.

3. When you filter Search Terms, Keywords, Negative Keywords, Creative Sets by Campaign or by Ad Group
